Sad Monsters n Apes n stuff
Hey! Look what came in the mail the other day =] It's the 'Sad Monsters' book I worked on a while back with super funny writer, Mr. Frank Lesser. I had a lot of fun illustrating some of the hilarious characters in this book... and it's my first cover! You can come by APE on Oct 1-2 in San Francisco where I'll have some of the originals on display at table #701. I'll also have a few copies you can check out (maybe even some for sale?). You can pre-order some right now via amazon, powell's (yup, that awesome store in portland) or other fine retailers at the bottom of the Sad Monsters website.
steven colbert!!! whaaat!!?? ...that's just bananas.
godzilla feeling under the weather (sorry, i couldn't help myself ;)
and a couple of details from other illustrations in the book.

So yeah, come by table #701 at APE and say hi. I'll be there sharing a table with my tag team partner who makes these adorable little cards you just want to eat up. I hear the google doodlers are in the house as well... a super crew of artists I have the lucky chance to work with. Anywho thats plenty of chatter from this box! Hope to see you guys there! -willie

Rio art and development
Oh man, apologies for such a long time without posting anything. A new job and a new home can take a lot out of you... but alas that's no excuse... I'll try and be better. By now you might've seen 'Rio' which was the last released film I worked on at BlueSky. Well I visited some friends who are still there last week and it reminded me of how much fun that place was. So many talented folks and soo much inspiration oozing out everywhere. Just wanted to share some of my favorite assignments on that project... Hope you enjoy =]

The Spoon Show
sold out
Hey everyone, thanks so much for your patience. I know some of you were interested in buying the spoons I worked on so here they are... an art opening of sorts. Without the snacks and the beverages of course... although, I am having a glass of wine tonight if you'd like to join me in honor of 'The Spoon Show' =]
If you'd like to purchase a spoon (or a drawing below) e-mail me at williereal@gmail.com. I will respond (on a first come, first served basis) with a confirmation e-mail where we can get pay-pal started. Once the funds are accepted I'll ship the work to you. Pretty simple.
Enjoy the show and again thank you for your interest and support!

Art Thief
Here's an 'art thief' piece I did tonight while sitting in a cafe on fillmore. It felt good to use the brush pen again... it's been way too long. Wanted to keep the colors simple bringing the line work front and center. It's the latest topic over at the DrawForce blog... which is still kicking I promise.

The big move
Bloggers!... apologies for my major hole in posting. A lot has been happening in these parts the past couple of months. In brief, I moved from NYC to San Francisco (where I'm originally from) to start a new gig with Google! I'll be illustrating the logo you guys see every day along side some very cool cats who can 'doodle' their pants off. I'm super happy to be home =]
I've received some inquiries and a lot of great feedback on the spoons I recently worked on... I'll be posting those up for sale shortly so stay tuned. Thanks for your guys patience! See ya soon! =]

what dreams are made of
Here's to the 1941 classic 'The Maltese Falcon' and to the excellent dialogue in that film... especially the line at the end of the movie by Humphrey Bogart (apologies if you haven't seen it). Happy Birthday Mr. Labriola =]

Watson
Here's my human touch on Watson, the super computer who wiped out the competition on Jeapordy and is this month's topic over at DrawForce, which by the way is still alive and well... we've just been a bit busy with personal projects and other extracurricular activities. I'm glad were back to it fellas =]

'nuestra casita'
Here's a painting I'm doing for the preview show of The Art Blocks this Saturday at The New Art Center in midtown. It's part a few original goodies that are going to be auctioned off the night of the event. The big shebang a bang bang auction will be happening online in March so stay tuned! It's a wonderful cause that will provide boarding and education for orphaned children in Ghana. You can find out more about it right here. Shout out to the whole PBP Foundation who've put soooo much hard work into this. You guys are truly amazing =]

SF Show! (March 4th)
Hi there! I wanted to announce the Bush+Leavenworth show coming up at D-Structure in San Fran next week on Friday March 4th. An buddy of mine is unveiling his spring line of clothing and invited myself and a few other artists to showcase our work. I've heard they throw some pretty cool openings so if you get a chance definitely swing by =] Unfortunately I wont be able to make it =[ I have some previous commitments I cant flake on. I'm showing these for the first time so I'm very excited. They're a nice change of pace to everything else I do so I hope you guys dig em. (I added a few drawings below that will accompany the wooden spoons)
