Jelly cont.

sneak peek

If you go back a few posts you'll find the old jelly test. It's for a picture book a friend and I are developing... I couldn't decide if the line version was working or not so I decided to try a different route. Fuller color, flat shapes against form etc. I like to try stuff and I'm trying to find a picture book style I guess you can say. Any who I hope you digs. I'll post some more as it comes along... slowly but surely =]

Love the line work of your usual style, but I ALSO really like what I see here. Can't wait to see more.

I think both versions are excellent, but if I had to choose I think I do prefer this one! The lack of lines works well - I loved the kitchen you did for "Fernando" a few posts back! Can't wait to see more of this...

This is stunning Willie! This works very well for a warm children's book feel with fuller color. :]

I like the subtle texture on the "background" :)

Nice. Love how the cards really feel like cards.

I agree...both versions are great. I tend to lean towards this approach though. In my opinion, less lineage or a softer colored line seems warmer...less harsh and "kid friendly". Awesome stuff!

I prefer the line work version. The line work is emotive and feels more interesting to look at.
