Dragon Emperor

Dragon Emperor was the topic over at DrawForce this month (how to train your dragon was awesome! congrats to the folks who worked on it!) Anywho, I wanted to take this one a bit further with color. It's new for me to finish something to this level but I had fun and I'm trying to balance flats and form to create something that you might see in a picture book...or in an animated short. Please drop knowledge or crits here...

Well done sir Willie! Love the composition and shapes of the characters, it fits each one perfectly. The colors are awesome and the scales on the dragon are dope! I really love the angle of the blacktop, and the markings on it like the hop scotch square thingy.

oh is the little chubby boy fernando? If it is he should call his imaginary friend over to help him out hehehe

Very beautiful Willie. I hope you're planning on doing a book soon, this would be perfect.

I thought you would go all out on the dragon, yet I like that you balanced the whole piece with the shapes and attitudes of the kids. :]

tooninator, galvinator, stephen - thanks guys. glad you're diggin' it =]

rawls, wayne - yeah...the little fat kid gets 'it' and is playing along, using his imagination.

freddy - all digital and I started doing it in gray scale with basic shapes

haylee - im planning to! i just need more practice with color and style...and more content. yeah i didnt want to take away too much from the kids...next one i'll try and go ALL out! =]
